Lupita Samuels ‘ book : Think Folks Are “Too Dark? ” Think Again! is great. It conveys brotherly equality. Skin color does not determine the value or the worth of an individual. Mind and spirit are the driving force of all human beings, so everyone should be treated with respect and dignity.

The book “Think Folks are Too Dark” is a great starter kit for opening the conversation on race and our perceptions of skin color. Simply written, it forces one to ask the hardest yet most simple questions!

Great book for helping children and adults understand race in a simple way. I highly recommend it if you have young children and would like to discuss our similarities as human beings no matter what your complexion is.

Think Folks are Too Black”. This book was written in the most appropriate time I would say. It can help our young around the country understand that we are all the same no matter what we appear like on the outside. With all the rage of violence of the human race happening, without pointing fingers. Our future leaders need reassurance that we as a people (the human race), not too Black, too White, or too Tan, can look beyond our beautiful differences and embrace gifts, talents, and wisdom to make this world a better place.

The Color blind series is a welcomed delight. The books are practical, engaging, and a great tool for teaching children to accept and appreciate themselves as well as accepting and appreciating the differences in others. The unique use of animals and their various colors is a great illustration for showing how we love animals for who they are and not their color. I see the series as a useful resource for schools, church schools and those working with children.

Thank you Ms. Samuels for writing such a blessed and challenging book! I struggled with my skin color and hair texture from a child up to young adulthood. When I started reading the Bible more, I realized that I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and have embraced with joy how God made me- dark-skinned with kinky-wavy and kinky-curly hair. While I am joyful in the way God made me, I realize sadly that that isn’t the case with many people of color. Ms. Samuels, thank you for writing this book to illustrate that all colors given to everyone and everything in creation are from God. There is a real need for books like these, and I’m happy God allowed Ms. Samuels to tap into a topic that people are often hesistant to discuss. I highly recommend this book!

“Interesting concept, love “Master C”. Nicely written and easy to read, once I started I could not stop. Great colorful pictures help noticing the similarity between the different humans and animals’ hair types and textures. Enjoyed learning about this topic. I believe people with a hair related self-esteem problem will realize how wonderfully made they are after reading this book. Lupita has a special way of transferring her love of teaching to her writings. Her spirituality and love for Master C is evident in everything she does. I believe natural hair is beautiful and that the reason for hair straightening is for easier management”

What an amazing book! The approach of using the diversity of our hair types is a creative way to identify and embrace our differences. Most of all, I love the animal comparisons that focus on the individual beauty of God’s creatures, while making the comparison to the individual beauty of our hair and our uniqueness. I LOVE IT!!! This book is an instrument to building self esteem and diversity awareness. Bravo! Well done!

This was a very interesting read. I love the author’s creativity in tackling a topic not much discussed at school including science courses. What type of hair do you have – good or bad? This book will tell you, read it and find out.

Educational. Can be read and understood by all. Shows that the same diversity that exists with human hair also exits all over nature.
